For some reason this week it just hit me that I feel like I have so much to do and not much time. Dr. Kelly it would be really helpful if you could create a list of things that we need to do like surveys, meetings, etc. I don't know about everyone else but I am starting to feel overwhelmed a little bit with getting things done and trying to find a job haha. I know Lauren isn't because she has a job already!!! Well I hope that you all have a great week and by the way just so you all know I am the first person to post this week!!!!
Oh Nick...your only the first one cause you posted like 10 minutes after she put it up. lol. I too am overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done. I feel like I continuously get emails everyday of more things that I need to do. Im really worried Im not getting everything done! :( And dont worry Nick...everything will work out for the best! I promise.
Well I am quite busy like the rest of you. I am not worried about getting a job because I have decided to go to graduate school at the University of Arizona and study Education Psychology for a MA. They only accepted 10 students into the program so I feel very proud and honored. My new graduate advisor says I had a great application and looked like a very promising student from all of my records, grades, etc. He also wants me to interview to be a teaching assistant I’m quite excited. I’ve already seen my advisor and have decided on two summer classes as well as classes for Fall 2009. I will actually end up graduating on May 16 and then starting classes as a graduate student tow days later, May 18.
I do understand the sense of not knowing what you’re doing and feeling overwhelmed because a few weeks ago I was unsure as to what I was doing and I had to make a decision within 3 weeks because if I decided not to enter the Educational Psychology program they would then let in the next best applicant down the list.
I intend to get my Master’s and once I’ve done that then I’ll decide if I’ll be teaching in high school or continue on to get a PhD and teach in college or at a community college.
I still need to work on my teaching portfolio and make it more interesting and colorful. I haven’t worked on it in a while but that is going to be my goal of this weekend and next to complete my teaching portfolio.
Well I hope everyone is doing well. I look forward to seeing everyone next Friday.
ya it's definitely crazy to me that we only have a month left til graduation. i def understand the stress of not knowing what's happening next year. im right there with you, although at least i know ill be going somewhere for grad school (now i just need to figure out where, and the possibility of finding some sort of part time work at the same time).
school has been incredibly interesting the past couple weeks. my kids in all classes are starting to lose motivation, and are acting up a lot more than usual, so as a result im spending quite a lot of time dealing w/ discipline issues.
i also have been neglecting my portfolio a bit, so ill be working on that this weekend
